Kaori Hikita was born in Japan in 1986.
Her first big break as a singer and pianist came in 2005 when she sung the theme song “Loveless” of a popular Japanese television cartoon. That song and record sold over 15K copies. Soon she became well known as a vocalist of Japanese anime soundtracks and she recorded theme songs for 6 more cartoon TV shows. Her clear and transparent vocal delivery made Kaori’s songs blend seamlessly into the innocent world of cartoon.
In 2014 Kaori toured for the first time outside of Japan performing around the UK. After returning home, she met Mr. Shuntaro Tanikawa who is one of the foremost known poets in Japan and started putting music and melodies to his famous poems.
The Princess Cruise asked her to perform on the Diamond Princess in 2016. She played and sung on the ship every night to have passengers from all over the world deeply touched. After this, she started to support a company producing unique music therapy for children with developmental disabilities.
Watching Kaori perform is a joy because there is always thought, dedication, and artistry in the way she presents every song. A true craftsman, Kaori feels passionate about her life’s work as a musician, and the opportunity to represent her homeland of Japan with her music.
